Twitter now lets users see a list of tweets they’ve recently viewed. This new feature called “Reading History” is active by default. Users can find it inside their “For You” timeline section. The company announced this addition today. It aims to help people easily rediscover posts they saw earlier. Finding specific tweets again was often difficult before.

The history list shows tweets viewed within Twitter’s main feed. This includes posts appearing while scrolling. It does not track clicks on links leading outside Twitter. The list appears in reverse chronological order. The newest viewed items show up first. Users can manually remove individual tweets from their history. They can also switch the entire feature off completely.
Accessing the history requires a few steps. Users tap their profile icon. Then they select “Settings and privacy”. Next they choose “Privacy and safety”. Finally they select “Your Twitter activity”. The reading history option appears there. Twitter says the data stays private. Only the account holder can see their own history. The information is stored locally on the user’s device.
